In my project dialogue I made two text-generated poetry books in addition to the installation piece, as two works alongside it.
On the table are the books: 'The attackers who claim to be Muslim dress like mince pies' and 'We aren’t the same class as thatched cottages'. These books were experiments in using data creatively, and were made using the replies from surveys I carried out in my research, fed into a random text generator (Storyjacker by David Jackson) to create funny and random, poem-like statements. I love making books and have made at least one for every project I’ve completed, and thought it was a great way to link back to the idea of traditional craft again as it's listed as an endangered craft.
